As the year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of my favorite books that I read in 2022. I broke my streak by missing out on 2021 unfortunately but it also means this should be a better selection of books. Let’s get to it!
1. First on my list is “Steal Like an Artist” by Austin Kleon.. This book is all about the creative process and how to find inspiration in the world around us. It’s a great read for anyone looking to tap into their creative side and come up with new ideas.
2. Next up is “The 100M Offer” by Alex Hormozi. This book is about the power of focus and how to achieve success in your career and personal life by zeroing in on what truly matters. It’s a great read for anyone looking to streamline their goals and make the most of their time.
3. Another book that I really enjoyed this year was “The Cold Start Problem” by Andrew Chen. This book is all about how to get started in a new industry or field, and it’s packed full of practical advice and real-world examples. It’s a must-read for anyone looking to make a career change or break into a new industry.
4. I also have to mention “The Ascent of Money” by Niall Ferguson. This book is a fascinating look at the history of finance and how it has shaped the world we live in today.
5. Another standout book for me this year was “Thinking in Bets” by Annie Duke. This book is all about how to make better decisions by learning from our mistakes and understanding the role of luck in life.
6. I also really enjoyed “Benjamin Franklin: An American Life” by Nelson Runger. This is a comprehensive and engaging biography of one of America’s founding fathers.
7 + 8. In the realm of science fiction, I was thrilled to re-read “Snow Crash” by Neal Stephenson and “Dune” by Frank Herbert. Both of these are classic works in the genre.
9. I also have to give a shout out to “12 Rules for Life” by Jordan Peterson. This is a thought-provoking and inspiring guide to living a fulfilling life.
10. Another standout business book for me this year was “Hit Refresh” by Satya Nadella. In this book, Nadella shares his insights on leadership and innovation and how they can be used to drive positive change in both business and society.
Lastly, I have to give a shout out to “The Outsiders” by William N. Thorndike. This book profiles eight unconventional CEOs and their strategies for success and is a great read for anyone interested in business and leadership.
All in all, it was a great year for reading, and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings. Happy reading!
